The House - Painting

We decided to paint the trim and closet doors of the bedrooms white.  This actually took a lot of time but was well worth it.

I had to learn how to remove wallpaper. It's a tricky job. Some parts just pulled off and others were more difficult. I did the best I could.

Removing more wallpaper.

Todd helped patch up the rough spots, and we experimented with some color.

We went with a light blue in the kids' room.  We lucked out when we removed the carpet.  We found a nice wood floor underneath!

We went with a darker shade of blue in the master bedroom.  Wood floors were found in here, too!

This is the new view from the front door.  I removed wallpaper on the wall to the left.

All the wallpaper removed from the salon (now dining room).

Primed and ready to paint.

Ceiling painted a light gray.  Nobody told me not to use satin paint on the ceiling.  Oh well.  I like it!

Dining room walls painted a little darker gray.

Here you can see the new floor.  Poles holding in recessed lighting while the glue dries.

Front wall painted same color as the gray in dining room.
Our one splash of color.  I wasn't quite sure if I was ready for this, but my husband's awesome color choices always seem to work.

Our new dining room/kitchen space all opened up!

Perfect ledge for Tony's paintings.

Track lighting always makes art look good.

This is the little coat cupboard that is right next to the front door.  I painted the shelf the same dark gray from the dining room.

The rest of the entry room is painted the dark red color.

The front wall is now called our picture wall.
The front living room was painted the same light gray as the dining room ceiling.

The finished kids' room then.  Now Asher has a twin bed under the windows, and the girls do sleep on mattresses.  :)
